Pianist Ruston Vuori explores the Theme and Variations form for solo piano through works of Handel, Mozart, Brahms, and Fauré. A native of Red Deer, Ruston Vuori has developed a reputation as a talented and sensitive musician. Under the guidance of Dr. Stéphane Lemelin, Dr. Jacques Després, and Dr. Ted Isenor, Ruston earned his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees with distinction from the University of Alberta, as well as a Performer’s ARCT diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. He has been the recipient of numerous prestigious academic awards and has appeared as a performer in solo and chamber music recitals in such cities as Edmonton, Banff, Winnipeg and Ottawa. He has also performed as a soloist with the Red Deer and University of Alberta symphony orchestras on numerous occasions. Ruston currently teaches piano, music theory, and aural skills at Red Deer College. He enjoys composing music in his spare time. Sunday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. | Studio A | Red Deer College.
