The Calgary Employment First Network (CEFN) celebrates Disability Employment Awareness Month every October. It is important to us to recognize and celebrate the outstanding inclusive employers and diverse employees involved in disability employment. Disability Employment Awareness Month 2016 features a wide range of exciting events that would not be possible without the support of this year’s partners: Mount Royal University, Bow Valley College, The City of Calgary, Calgary Economic Development, Picture This Film Festival, and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce for their dedication to inclusive employment. On October 4, the Calgary Employment First Network invites you to our kick-off event, where Mayor Naheed Nenshi will officially proclaim October as Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM).

On October 4th, you’re invited to find out how a dedicated group of Calgarians are working to make statements like these obsolete.

In addition to the Mayor’s proclamation, we’ll feature the official launch of DEAM 2016 and details on upcoming DEAM events, including a seminar on Inclusive Leadership, the DEAM Film Fest, Mount Royal University’s “New Conversations” on inclusive communities, and our DEAM Employer Awards event on October 26th.
