The Calgary Employment First Network invites you to the Disability Employment Awareness Month Employer Awards Gala, honouring innovative organizations that are leading the charge in hiring and accommodating Albertans with disabilities. Six winners will be chosen from 30 worthy nominees. The DEAM Employer Awards will be attended by leading members of the private and public sectors, including the Honourable Irfan Sabir, Minister of Community and Social Services, and John Stinson, Assistant Deputy Minister – Disabilities, Inclusion and Accessibility Division, Community and Social Services.
No Albertan should feel like they are automatically excluded from participating in daily life simply because of who they are. Building inclusive communities and workplaces is a priority for our government, and the nominees for the DEAM Employer Awards are demonstrating exemplary leadership in disability employment. I sincerely thank all of the nominees for their hard work. I know, and they know, that disability isn’t an inability, and by working together we can make life better for all Albertans.
– Irfan Sabir, Minister of Community and Social Services
The Gala features a keynote by Kiran Dhaliwal, a successful Calgary entrepreneur who has broken many barriers in her career.
This year’s DEAM awards will be presented by last year’s winners:
