Streets Alive Mission Hosts Summer Wing Ding 2016 Fundraiser in Lethbridge

LethbridgeCountry 95’s Brent “Brooksie” Brooks is sure to bring the fun as emcee at the Summer Wing Ding 2016 fundraiser. On July 19th, everyone is invited to join in the fantastic evening of food, friends, and fun, complete with dinner, dessert, and lively entertainment, all in support of Streets Alive Mission. Get in quick, this event is always a sell out due to the 200 seat limit, and tickets must be bought in advance. Ken Kissick, co-founder of Streets Alive Mission says, “Wing Ding is an event to connect people passionate about making a difference in our community with the life changing programs offered through Streets Alive Mission.”The Wing Ding is Streets Alive Mission’s main fundraising event for the summer. Gaming Funds for Nonprofits – Free Webinar Series | February 11 & March 3

webinarThe Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) is offering a free, two-part webinar series about the use of gaming funds for nonprofits in Alberta. Both webinars feature a live question and answer period. This series was designed to create awareness and provide information about the process and requirements of charitable gaming in Alberta. The webinar series will be facilitated by Volunteer Alberta and feature a speaker from the Gaming Information for Charitable Groups (GAIN) Program. The presentations will cover topics of interest to the non-profit sector as identified in the survey conducted by Volunteer Alberta in May of 2015. Gain a better understanding of how AGLC and gaming proceeds can benefit your organization in the upcoming sessions: the first on February 11 and the second on March 3. Registration is free.

Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta provides a home away from home for out-of-town families with sick children receiving medical attention in a Calgary hospital. The House has grown and changed since opening and the purpose remains the same – keeping families together in a compassionate and comfortable, home-like atmosphere. Family Centre believes that healthy children and healthy families mean healthy communities. Our shared purpose has created a strong partnership between Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants and Family Centre. Together we launch the McHappy season through an annual Charity Gala and Auction and top it off with McHappy Day in May. 80% of the Gala proceeds go to Family Centre and 20% go to Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta.

Be transported to a lavish costume ball in 1920s Vienna, where they dance the night away amid dazzling singing, mistaken identities, and rollicking comic subterfuge. This fully staged production, with beautiful sets and costumes, is sung entirely in English with spoken dialogue, so you won’t miss a single joke. It is sure to be a most enjoyable evening of fun!
