Gaming Funds for Nonprofits – Free Webinar Series | February 11 & March 3

webinarThe Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) is offering a free, two-part webinar series about the use of gaming funds for nonprofits in Alberta. Both webinars feature a live question and answer period. This series was designed to create awareness and provide information about the process and requirements of charitable gaming in Alberta. The webinar series will be facilitated by Volunteer Alberta and feature a speaker from the Gaming Information for Charitable Groups (GAIN) Program. The presentations will cover topics of interest to the non-profit sector as identified in the survey conducted by Volunteer Alberta in May of 2015. Gain a better understanding of how AGLC and gaming proceeds can benefit your organization in the upcoming sessions: the first on February 11 and the second on March 3. Registration is free.

Family Centre & McDonald’s Restaurants Annual Charity Gala and Auction | Lethbridge | March 17, 2016

Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta provides a home away from home for out-of-town families with sick children receiving medical attention in a Calgary hospital. The House has grown and changed since opening and the purpose remains the same – keeping families together in a compassionate and comfortable, home-like atmosphere. Family Centre believes that healthy children and healthy families mean healthy communities. Our shared purpose has created a strong partnership between Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants and Family Centre. Together we launch the McHappy season through an annual Charity Gala and Auction and top it off with McHappy Day in May. 80% of the Gala proceeds go to Family Centre and 20% go to Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta.

With 33 nominees for the 2014 award, they collectively represent over $500 million dollars in annual revenues and over 7,700 employees.  There are 13 nominees from Calgary, 10 from Edmonton, 2 from Grande Prairie and 1 each from Fort McKay, Drayton Valley, Nisku, Plamondon, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, St. Albert and Strathmore.

Be transported to a lavish costume ball in 1920s Vienna, where they dance the night away amid dazzling singing, mistaken identities, and rollicking comic subterfuge. This fully staged production, with beautiful sets and costumes, is sung entirely in English with spoken dialogue, so you won’t miss a single joke. It is sure to be a most enjoyable evening of fun! Join us for a special dress rehearsal open to school groups, students and LSO Access Pass members – for only $12 per ticket (registration is free). Student Preview: Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Doors 6:30 pm. Performance 7:00 pm. Southminster United Church. This student previs event is rush seating.
